no, will you be my valentine?

Bee my valentine. How many of us when in elementary school celebrated Valentine’s Day by exchanging those cute little cards? However, was there a special person who didn’t receive a silly one, such as the play on words between “bee” and “be”? No, this was an expression from the heart. (And don’t call it puppy love! This is “I can love you like no one else” stuff.)

Of course, the object of your affection didn’t get the message.

Sometimes, though, February 14 is a happy occasion! Can I get an Amen?

Today, there is someone to whom I express the wish, “Be My Valentine.” I consider Banu to be a sacrament of God’s love for me. She is a sacrament — just as surely as the water of baptism or the bread and cup of the Eucharist. She is a physical presence through whom God’s grace and love flow to me.

A sketch done by Grace Sheldon, a high school student when we were in Corning, NY.

Besides that, Banu is a work of art. Equally, she is an object of art.

She can also pose in front of books.

We just sat down for lunch at Cheekwood Gardens in Nashville.

Banu is a wonderful lunch companion.

Little critters love her!

What else can I do but ask, “Will you be my Valentine?”
