Has anyone ever seen a product in a grocery story featuring an "ugly" person? I jokingly ask that to my wife from time to time. How about images posted on social media? How many people select the worst possible--or least flattering--photo of themselves to post?
(A couple of years ago for Halloween, I put my face on Brad Pitt's for People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive issue. I'm not sure that counts.)
My wife and I lived for six months last year in Pensacola. In my travels, I haven't seen a city with such a disproportionate level of folks soliciting at busy street corners.
Anyway, there was a fellow who often positioned himself at a particular spot and held up a sign saying, "Give to the ugly." I wonder if he was expecting more, less, or no donations! If it were evidence of a sense of humor, I give him thumbs up! (Full disclosure, we never gave to him.)
